Walking Around London

London Calling!

We’ve arrived in a blue-skied (free-of-hurricane-winds!) London. It was a short train ride from Prestatyn…rather humbling considering how long we’d hiked 🙂

We’ve found a new area to explore near the Tower Hill. The view from our room looks directly at the Tower bridge over the Thames.

In order to keep our room smelling fresh, we’ve given a bag of our hiking gear  and nasty socks to the nearby laundry guy…poor man.

Yesterday we spent…walking. What else does one do in London?

To be fair, our walk yesterday was a lot shorter trek than the last two weeks. We just sauntered up a short distance along the Thames and today we’ll do more of the same.

But first, we’re doing our email and this blog and hoping that the Starbucks employees haven’t realized we’ve been sitting here using free WiFi for wa-a-a-y too long; a result of our hotel wanting to charge ten pounds a day to connect. (I don’t understand why hotels don’t realize it’s a nice and easy freebie they could throw in?)

It feels strange to be back in a city context. I am definitely missing my sheep friends and those curious cows…but soon I’ll be seeing a lot more (much skinnier) cows in India.

Until then, I’ll remain here in this a cow-free zone, in a city that hums and vibrates with millions of people wearing far too many suits, with shoulder bags and briefcases that look they’re causing permanent shoulder damage.

Man, I’m so happy not to be part of that grind to the top. They all look so tired.
