Let us begin this weekend sooner than later.  You know why? Do you huh?!

It’s because my little breakthrough writing moment from yesterday held all the way through until today.

Yes. It’s true. I picked up where I had left off on that story I started yesterday and somehow it segued into something else and soon I was writing and writing some more. I wrote my way into the last big blowout physical fight I ever had.

It was in grade eight. I won. I didn’t even get kicked out of school.

But that’s not the point. If I told the whole story right here it would kind of suck the wind out of those tentative writerly sails. The point is, that I feel like I finally broke through whatever resistance I’ve been stuck in.

Previously, I’d been busily copying and pasting and moving old writing around. Sometimes my edits would result in a couple of extra sentences here and there, but I was never throwing down anything really new.

And now I’ve done it two days in a row and I’m feeling pretty groovy.

I’m feeling the need for some reward time for being such a big girl and sticking it out. Luckily that’s just what is on the books. I see a shopping excursion and a massage in my immediate weekend future.

And by Monday? Look out Monday! Now I know how to go at it. And I’ll be ready.

Hope everyone has a shiny weekend planned. Think of something that’s worthy of a happy face sticker on the daytimer. I plan on plastering my calendar with stickers in all kinds of colours.
