We started out on the rocky barren hillside of Eglwyseg Mountain. Â And somehow we’ve ended up here, at Firgrove House, just outside of Ruthin, taking in the delightful company of Anna & Phillip Meadway.
I’m always amazed at the turns and twists that can happen in a day.
At one point, we were being blown asunder by 80 km/hour winds on the Clywdian Mountains, and in the next, we’re discussing wines in the crimson-walled dining room of Firgrove House after finishing a fine dinner of Welsh lamb with a lovely Burgundy.
Perhaps that is the best part of travel; the way you can start in one place and end up somewhere so completely and utterly different.
We’ve now walked, staggered and dragged ourselves 247 kilometres. Tomorrow is another 19 km with more predictions of high winds and rain.
But then, who knows where we’ll end up? Surely it couldn’t be as lovely as this?
Great picture!
Thanks Sharon 🙂 There are so many amazing things to photograph, it’s hard to know where to look.
