Crabby on Stalashen Drive

Sunset in Sechelt, BC
Stalashen Sunset

It’s hard to believe the prediction is for rain tomorrow morning. How can it rain after a glorious day like today?  I’m really hoping they’re wrong…at least for the first part of the morning while I’m flying to Nanaimo.  The plan is to land there, grab a cab to the train station and then take the train to Comox to finally start this Fresh Start Health Retreat.

I swear it feels like I’ve been on it for awhile already.  Kevin went out today and caught four gorgeous crab. I ate a piece about as big as my thumb and then sat down and ate MELONS.  I stepped away from crab and melted garlic butter.

Maybe I need to repeat that…I stepped away from crab and melted garlic butter.

I don’t think this has ever happened in my life. I turned down seafood. There should be heralding trumpets or something, but nope, it was just me left with a hunk of cantaloupe.

Then I went crazy and had a bit of watermelon to shake things up.

I do love being virtuous though and that’s gotta be worth something. Though on the scale of things? I’d easily dump the virtue thing and would have much rather tucked into those butter-dripping-fat-chunks-of-crab.

But the thing about doing the whole detox experience is to actually experience it the way they rather strongly suggest. I know I won’t be going through caffeine withdrawal because I’ve been coffee-free since Saturday after 9:32 a.m.

I’ve eaten my pumpkin seeds, drank my water, avoided the wine, and had my green smoothies.

I’m ready for anything they can throw at me. Let’s just do this thing.
