The New Camera and Nepal

Well, it’s done. Kevin & I bought the new Panasonic Lumix camera that was recommended to me by my friend Irene and from photographer, Ewen Bell.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that now I have another learning curve to try and stuff all these new buttons – and how they work – into my overloaded brain. Sigh.

But, I am rather thrilled about the video capabilities and hope that means I’ll be loading up a few more Youtube videos. I’ll probably start with some thrilling footage of our three chickens, Courage, Confidence and Karma.  They are, after all, rather photogenic and almost continually in movement.

Speaking of movement and photography, I received a press release today from Ewen Bell and have pasted it below.

So if anyone’s interested in some photography tips and perhaps a photography trip in Nepal (like who wouldn’t be?) here’s all the particulars…

Award-winning travel photographer Ewen Bell, the author of the website Photography for Travelers, would like to share his list of top tips for travel photography.

Ewen is promoting his new photography tour of Nepal by sharing some beautiful images and inspiring insights into how to be more creative with the camera. If you would like some images and information for a short story on photography or on Nepal, feel free to download from the links below. Ewen’s philosophy with the camera is to bring out your creative expression, not merely technical output.

The camera is a brush and photographers are artists. “Nepal is unlike any other place in Asia, a blend of Hindu and Buddhist cultures where the East meets India. To the south are magnificent jungles, to the north are the Himalayas and the Annapurnas. This trip starts in the Kathmandu Valley before heading into remote and remarkable regions of the country. The journey gets off the beaten track more than most tours, as does the advice on photography along the way.” – Ewen Bell
