Roofus & The Ride – Photo by Monica Ott
I love this photo.
For some bizarre reason, mostly because of the fact that I’m computer illiterate, I can’t seem to enlarge this picture. However, I’m putting it up anyway. This picture was taken by my beautiful, and very smart niece, Monica Ott. (Click on her name to see her tres cool jewellry). This photo is of her dog Roofus and her very groovy bicycle. That looks like one happy dog. And, for that matter, one happy bicycle.
Speaking of rides, it’s now confirmed; Kevin & I are cycling from our house in Wilson Creek up to the end of Canada’s #1 Hwy in Lund, BC. We leave May 31st for this little tour and will be checking out some of the hot spots of the Sunshine Coast while also getting my legs in shape for the bigger ride on the first week of July.
That July bicycle trip will be my 22nd annual tour with some of the best women in the world. This year we’ll drive to Jasper and begin our assault on the Icefield’s Parkway to Banff. Okay, I’ll grant you that it’s not really so much an assault, so much as a push, no wait…I just looked up the definition of assault, and one of its meanings includes, “a concerted effort’.
There, that’s the truthyness of it. We will be most assuredly making a ‘concerted effort’ to cycle through those Rockiest of Rocky Mountains. By July, I’ll be 50 and I’ll be the second youngest one of the group.
Do the Math. We’re definitely pushing the boundaries on a few levels, including the capabilities of those Lycra shorts – but that’s another topic.
