Between all the speakers and workshops and mingling with other writers, it’s impossible to get a blog post up, never mind work on my ‘project’ (which I’m close to calling a manuscript – how brave is that?!?!)
WiFi at this hotel is fairly non-existent, which is a big disappointment. I am only managing to get this done because there’s a little surge of WiFi power right this very minute. Trust me when I tell you that I’m typing very fast!
Starbucks is about a 15-minute walk away but, there’s not enough time to get there and back, and still attend to everything I’ve signed up for.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Actually, what I’m learning here, is that I have been doing too much of exactly that; sticking with my story. I have been polishing the beginning over and over, instead of just moving forward in whatever fashion possible.
However. I am inspired. And when this conference ends, Michele and I will have a few days left to ourselves. Of course, we’ve just hatched a new business plan for a new (TBA!) site, which sounds suspiciously like we won’t have any time left for our own writing projects.
I’m detecting a trend with my behaviour. Either I sign up for press trips, cook up a plan like the aforementioned site that involves tons of time, or otherwise create busyness away from what I say I want to do.
But truly; the facts are that I simply want to do it all.
Is that so wrong?
Yes you must do it all! I insist xo
Karen, Thank you for insisting (like I needed more encouragement!!) Nice to have support 🙂
Hey Colleen. Fit in time for the elusive walk to Wormy Lake as it sounds so appealing, eh? Am hangin’ out at Strait C. for a wk b4 returning to PS from whence Bambi & me will take leisurely trip home on West Coast. Can’t wait to touch base w u in reality. Love reading your musings about your journeys thru this world.
Hey Judy, Wormy Lake definitely beckons. Who can resist a name like that?
One of these days…Glad you and Bambi are having fun and thanks for coming along on my journeys.
So glad you’re having a productive, creative time! (And more than a little envious, too, I must admit.) I always want to do it all too, and get more ideas than I know what to do with.
Becca, I’m so glad that I’m not the only one in the too-many-ideas department. I have such a hard time pursuing one thing to the exclusion of another. Such problems eh?
