It is a howling bright wind outside. The sea is glittering and hard, the wind chimes sound like they’re clanging themselves senseless. Even the crows are getting blown sideways as they try to land in the trees outside this second-story window.
It’s another one of those spring days that is beautiful to behold, but to actually go outside? Not so much.Or perhaps that’s more a reflection of my mind.
Because somehow the whole day feels like something outside of me; beautiful, to be sure, but not something I’m participating in. Methinks that I might be too much engaged in this solitary writing world.
But it’s another example of some of the emotive corollaries that show up in my writing, which makes me realize that we, or more correctly I, must be doing this all the time; attributing a state of being or projecting an emotional response on something inanimate as a way of reflecting my own mood back to me.
I was reading some of my earlier chapters and was astonished to see these corollaries embedded in some of the paragraphs. This is stuff that I did not consciously set out to do, but there they were. I also found metaphors that someone else might read and suggest as a little too overt and obvious, but they too, were completely unintentional.
It’s kind of cool and kind of whoo-whoo (insert Twilight Zone soundtrack here). It’s more than a little strange at just how much we unwittingly reveal. But then again, what are we so afraid of showing?
Should have read: E-buffet!
Ah…makes more sense now. Thanks for the clarification.
You might be interested in putting some of you work into e-buffer. Check it out.

Hey Bruce, thanks for your comment but I need some clarification, as I have no idea what e-buffer is and came up empty on my Internet search…
I’ve been doing dreams for the last 40 years. If you ever get stuck on one I would be interested in taking a look…free of course.
Should this happen, send only the dream…no other information.
Like your blog. I have traveled quite a bit and am just lately become interested in travel writing. I’ve been writing fiction and poetry for 35 years…published occasionally – no books as yet.
