It has been an interesting month. I feel like I’ve done an Old Testament survival course. All that was missing was the rain of locusts.
Perhaps there’s a hacker out there who’s perfected that?
I am really trying to wrap my head around the idea that intelligent people go to such great lengths to hide malicious code in strange and seemingly-innocent places. It’s not like these malicious bugs are directed at me personally, they are just out there waiting to attack any one.
I suppose that like anything in life, it’s not ‘fair’. It just is. Fate is random, visiting the worthy and the unwashed rabble in random proportions.
Maybe these hackers just represent all that is yin and yang in our lives. I’m sure we would have all been bored to tears if nothing dark and sinister had ever entered that mythical perfect garden. We all know that without darkness there can be no light; that these shadows inform and outline the brighter bits…but still. I’m kind of hoping for a stab at a boring stretch.
And as for Angels of Mercy; those people who are tireless keepers of the Light? That would be Laurie McConnell at Bad Dog Design who embodied persistence, patience and sheer doggedness (hence the name?) in scrubbing my site free of all those little nasties.
It’s a new week, a new day and I’m ready. Bring it on. Whatever IT is.
Uh oh, what did I miss?
Who would hack such a lovely lady with such a lovely site? (Speaking of which, I can’t help by notice I’m not on your Link Love. That’s okay, sniff, sniff.)
Dear Link-Love Girl,
You missed hacks and malware and malicious bugs that attacked my blog and left it quivering in a corner…a very sad sight indeed. It is mostly restored and I don’t think the scars are too glaring. I’m adding you to the list, so you can quit whinging now 🙂
Things have been kind of technically wonky over here, that’s for sure! I’m glad to see you’re up and running again ~ missed you!
Thanks for coming by Becca. It’s good to be back in the Bloggy World. Keeping my fingers crossed that things will stay on track.
