I feel like I’m ending this week on a bit of a whimper. My technical geekoid abilities are pretty weak at the best of times, but after spending the last two hours on something that I’m sure any semi-literate person could have done AND getting nowhere, I feel like the weekend has arrived just in time. It is time for a break from the screen. Time for a break altogether.
I am heading out to the library right now. I will be filling a bag with all and sundry and hunkering down in front of the fire for the weekend.
The wind has lessened from the past two days of crazy howling but the cold air off those dark waves moves through the bones, relentless and cold.
It definitely looks like a weekend for soup and fresh bread. On that note, I bring you a new-to-me website.
I found Take Back the Bread over on the Homemaker’s Bright Side Blog and plan on having that doughy link open this weekend.
Fresh bread. Life makes more sense when there is a warm loaf and some good butter waiting on the counter…I am already feeling more hopeful.
It is surely great to retreat in the couch and do your favorite pastime over the weekend; while enjoying a very tasty snack 🙂 Have fun!
In my opinion, there is nothing that cannot be made better with hot bread and lots of warm butter.
Enjoy it 🙂
I believe it is a fundamental truth with a capital “T”. Everywhere in every culture, there is some dough-like food item that provides comfort – a simple and profound loveliness that we share.
Drat! I just wrote a long comment, and the code to get through said I did it wrong!
Oh yeah, I have to agree that it’s been a screaming, squawky crazy week and how nice to spend time writing today in front of the screen – by choice!
You have sparked my yen for butter (bread is, after all, an excuse for having butter!) and I’ll be looking at that bread link in about a half hour.
Enjoy your treasure haul from the library! (where the “shopping” is always good!)
OH man, don’t you hate that? I wrote a huge long comment somewhere recently and then was continually confounded by the process until I just gave up. Thank you for persisting with another comment. I wrote today too – no techy stuff – just plain ol’ writing. It was lovely. And yes, tons of magazines aka eye candy from the library, along with some interesting looking books. Yippee.
Mmmmmmmmnnnn, i can smell it. Eat for me honey and be really, really, grateful for your daily bread.
Barb, I thought of you after I posted that and thought it was an especially cruel thing to write if you, my gluten-free cousin, happened to check in…And yes, I am really grateful for my bread and hope you find a good substitute somewhere.
Sounds like a plan, girl! Can’t wait to hear about the concoctions you created on Monday. Enjoy your break from virtual reality.
Seems it’s a hard habit to break cuz here I am again. I think it’s an incremental plan and for today I’m not attempting any new technical learning. Sticking to basics, like bread, wine and perhaps tulips (not really a cut rose fan:) for today.
