I’d like you to meet Buba (pronounced BOO-BA). You can also call him Smokey. I met Buba at his brand new restaurant on the island of Antigua.
In the video I’ve pasted above, Buba is on the deck of his restaurant pointing out the trail he’s working on that will take a hiker down through all that lush tropical forest and back again in time for a lunch that looks like this…
This delicious plate was filled with beans and rice, fried local fish, plantains, freshly made coleslaw and served up with fresh squeezed guava combined with fresh cherry juice. There was nothing left when I was done.
Buba’s is easy to find, but only if you know where to go. He doesn’t have a website yet but I’ll have a link for him soon.
Until then you can always contact the Antigua-Barbuda Tourism Board. Tell them you want to do something different…a little hiking, a locally made meal while listening to Buba’s dj spin some great music.
All while looking over the drop-dead gorgeous valley to the newly named highest peak on the island. It is formerly known as Boggy Peak but has been newly dubbed, Mt. Obama.
