I’m in touch with a few of my new friends from the Taos Writers’ Conference and we’re already planning when we can get together again to discuss our respective works-in-progress. This is a good thing on a few levels:
Obviously, the really important thing is that we all truly connected. This, in spite of completely different backgrounds and views on the world. That alone is a very cool and wonderful thing that happened.
But the other biggie for me, is that it means I’m motivated to keep moving on my project…knowing that there will be an expectation that I/we have actually moved on a little from where we all started.
Not sure if we’ll be able to pull it off, or if interests will wane or whether it’s one of those things that can’t come together because of schedules or commitments. Who can truly predict these things?
But I know that so far, it’s a great motivating force to keep me writing. It worked again today.
And on my other program? The continuing education called, Learning to Relax? I went to the library and checked out a huge pile of books, and then requested an even longer list and have no intention of doing anything but read, write and maybe throw together the odd meal until the end of August.
Look for me on the hammock.
