Here it is. 50 years have gone by…
And this afternoon the birthday party starts.
Sean asks the best questions and yesterday he said, “Who isn’t going to be here that you wish could be here?”
And I’ve been thinking… and thinking…which Sean often has me doing with his insightful comments and questions.
And so, though I thought of many friends that I would love to share this day with, ultimately there’s only one person I wish to see and be seen by. I have so much to ask her and I think I’m finally old enough that we could really talk.
So Mom, please know that you’re missed.
Hi Colleen: Just saw the blurb about your birthday. You’re still a baby so enjoy, enjoy. The best is yet to come and you could pass for forty any day. I have been eighty all year and Bill kept saying your not eighty yet. So I decided this year I’ll make up for it by being 79. And heh, might continue that trend of going backwards as long as I can get away with it. Love Joan.
Bless you Joan. Considering you look more like 60, I’m guessing you’ll be able to pull off your new backward-counting plan as long as you like:)
I’ve decided I’m just never going to act like a mature adult…that’s bound to take a few years off – at least in terms of expectations.
Hey, totally missed your birthday. Sorry. Sounds like you have been having an eventful summer. Miss you…and our moms!
No worries on missing birthdays…I barely remember what day of the week it is 🙂
It’s hard to keep up with everything we’re ‘supposed’ to remember.
And yes, would love to see you one of these days. Stay well.
Bless you a thousand times Jan. I swear I’m really 22 years old, but stuck in a body that kids call, “Ma’am”. And yes, I’m on that boat with the rest of you. Sounds like fun.
What? You turned 50? I think of you as a perpetual 35…Happy belated birthday!
Are you coming with us to Gambier next Sunday, June 27?
