My Czech Republic story is now in the March issue of Adventure Cyclist Magazine. This is one of the photos and stories that didn’t make it into the article but it was a fine moment to remember. The 30,000 kms of trails that stitch the Czech Republic together includes the Vienna-Prague route that travels through Bohemia. It took a bit of convincing on my part to persuade these guys that they needed to be in the photo with the mushrooms. They figured a photo of the baskets was enough. All I could manage was my besblog-bastardized version of a Czech please and thank you with lots of smiles.
Something worked, because they finally agreed and here they are.
This has got to be one of my all-time favourite cycling trips. I don’t quite know what I expected, but what was delivered was this incredible landscape dotted with castles, crumbling statues in the middle of enchanted forests and great food…all of it brought to life by our incredible guide.
