I’m just about finished my 3000-word article on our August/September trip in Hungary. The draft is done, the sidebar’s written and the photos sorted, but here’s the thing I’ve learned. In spite of my need for instant gratification of sending it off immediately…I instead, am showing Big-Girl restraint and letting it sit for a few days. I won’t look at it all weekend and on Monday I’ll print it yet again so I can read it aloud and listen for any rhythmic misses, grammatical errors and general messy bits.
But in writing this story for Adventure Cyclist and while reviewing and editing the photos, I’ve had a chance to relive that trip. It seems like every time I go through this process, I get more out of the trip – the second and third time – than I did while I was actually doing it. Some books and films are like that too, the layers are revealed the more it’s looked at, examined and admired.
Our stay in Budapest was enhanced by our stay at the Gerloczy Hotel. This place is an absolute must-stay.
It felt like we were in Paris when we were sitting on our balcony with this cafe scene at our feet.
I’d love to go back and spend a week doing nothing but going to spas and then back to this beautiful hotel.
Picture are real nice. We stayed that warm hotel also. Nice staff they have
I couldn’t agree more. I loved that hotel and the lovely people working there.
