This is the outside of the collaged box. The photo of my dad/Sean’s grandfather is in black and white and is a copy of a photo that is over 60 years old. I have added some trees for the metaphorical roots and a butterfly for the wings. Copies of old postage stamps as a reminder that we are always traveling, even when we are standing still. I have a little piece of text that is rather self-explanatory and says, Open Your Eyes.
The closure is of a rusty old bottle cap, some brown twine and a jean fastener button.
The text on the upper right says,
We didn’t come here to fit in. We came here to be who we are.
We didn’t come here to work. We came here to live our dreams.
We didn’t come here for the stuff. We came here to love each other.
We didn’t come here by accident. We each came here with a purpose that is uniquely our own.
You make the world a better place.
Bless you.
