I left the TMAC conference right after the lunch today. Tourism Wales hosted the lunch, as they’re hosting the 2010 conference next March in Cardiff and they brought in a lovely singer who unfortunately was at the mercy of a rather crap speaker system which rendered her singing into the tinny quality of a cheap radio. Really too bad, because it was obvious she had a round and lovely voice.
However, they also brought in the Vancouver Men’s Welsh Choir to sing a few numbers. It was so old-fashioned and I felt like we’d all been transported into some other simpler time. And how cool is it to see older men in suits belting out This Little Light of Mine? I got a little glassy-eyed over the whole thing. And since there was so many of them, there was no need for tinny microphones to ruin their big manly blogosteroned voices.
Anyways, decided to leave on a high note, in spite of wanting to see all the lovely new people I’d met over the last few days; I thought it might be time to just hang at home and try out a little down time. The social whirl has been rather daunting lately and I just wanted to be alone. The old introvert hermit won out over the extrovert version of moi.
I’ve spent this afternoon, and now early evening, cruising around blogs about travel writing, writing in general, blogging, and all manner of bits and bites. I came up this site and enjoyed his posts and content immensely. Thought I’d share. Sending some link love to Mark Moxon. Sounds like a pretty cool dude. http://www.moxon.net/
