I’m back in full-time freelance semi-retired mode and getting back in the groove. I remember now, the wonder of free-time to explore markets, think up ideas, read, walk, and generally muse. This same wonderfulness can go very awry if I don’t make sure I have a couple of must-do things on the otherwise general list. Ennui is not a writer’s friend – generally speaking.
I have become a rabid fan of Haven Kimmel over the last weeks. I loved A Girl Named Zippy, The Solace of Leaving Early, and I’m partway through She Got Up off the Couch. My dream goal is to work up a memoir like Zippy.
Meanwhile, I will not bemoan the fact that our external hard drive imploded and I will not dwell on the fact that tons of my writing was only saved in that stupid box. My own fault. I guess that writing was practise. Indeed.
Lablog plan is to somehow load up a world map with tags on places I’ve traveled to. I make lists of these things and then promptly lose the list. This is more for my perimenopausal memory than anything else.
Happy Post-Groundhog Day.
